Web8 Oct 2024 · I simply removed the rear part of drive shaft. Now the car (96 Impreza) is a Front Wheel Drive car. I have read that some models were originally produced as FWD cars (without the rear shaft) but did have the connectors in place for AWD. Loss of performance is not much of an issue in my case. Driving around town under 50 mph is about all I ever do.
