High volt estim for wound healing
WebThe purpose of this study was to determine whether high voltage electrical stimulation accelerates the rate of healing of dermal ulcers. Sixteen patients with stage IV decubitis ulcers, ranging in age from 20 to 89 years, participated in the study. The patients were assigned randomly to either a Treatment Group (n = 9) or a Control Group (n = 7). WebHigh voltage current was developed as a monophasic waveform that would reach deeper into the body tissue. High Voltage electrical stimulation uses polarity (positive or negative) to stimulate the tissue. This type of stimulation can be used to decrease pain, edema or facilitate in wound healing.
